Shea has had a firsthand account of the meteoric rise of sports gambling over the last 30 years, working as an oddsmaker in the mid-1990s before going on to run the Las Vegas sportsbooks of both The Venetian from 1999–2002 and The Hard Rock Casino from 2002–2009. She also held leadership positions at several other large American casino operators before taking on her current role with DraftKings in 2018.

In her current role, Shea is responsible for driving engagement, improving processes and spearheading transformative sports betting and gaming industry initiatives. During her time with DraftKings, the company has risen to become one of the most prominent online sportsbooks in the U.S.
