By: Evan Kolin

The Duke Sports Business Conference is proud to announce our second speaker on our Social Justice in Sports panel: Sydney Colson.

Colson was a star point guard for Texas A&M from 2007 until 2011, leading the Aggies to the 2011 NCAA Championship during her senior season. She’s played in the WNBA and overseas since graduating, while also serving as an assistant coach at Rice from 2015–17.

Now playing for the Chicago Sky, Colson has been heavily involved in the WNBA’s social justice initiatives over the last year. The Houston native is one of six players with a leadership position on the league’s inaugural Social Justice Council, and she has spoken at length about the fight for racial justice with both the New York Times and Chicago Tribune, among others.

If you want to learn more about Colson and her insights into the intersection of social justice and sports, sign up for Duke’s inaugural sports business conference.
